In 2005 the UK Contingent to EuroJam created a forum for those interested and attending the event. Hundreds of people wrote posts and topics and got to know each other. At EuroJam they finally got to meet and realised we would be friends with these people for many years to come, possibly forever. EuroJam was a summer few of us would forget and as the event drew to a end we realised that the UK Contingent to EuroJam forum would close and we would no longer be able to talk to each other. So a few enterprising individuals setup a sign-off forum on a free hosting Scout website and soon reached the limitations and moved to a sub-domain of a friends site.

Originally the sign-off was for those in the UK Contingent, particually those going to the World Scout Jamboree in 2007, United Kingdom. In the spirit of longevity the premise was to focus on Jamborees, any Jamboree happening anywhere, particularly those that are international. The website would be a place for anyone attending to congregate and share ideas and knowledge whilst in a friendly fun environment.

Whilst there preparations began to not only improve the forum but move to its own website and create its own identity. First and formost a name was needed, after many brainstorming sessions the name “Go Jamboree” popped out and the tracking symbol for ‘home’ or ‘gone home’. The symbol can represent how how much you like being at Jamborees so you’ve ‘gone home’ to a Jamboree. Alternatively the gojamboree website is for when when you aren’t at Jamboree so you’ve “gone home” from a Jamboree. Its a little abstract so if you want to keep things simple lets just say its a scouting symbol we took on as a logo. :D

The Go Jamboree Website is now in in its second year, and has moved from being just a forum for people to stay in contact with each other but an entire online community where people from every walk of life and speak and share their experiences in a multitude of mediums.
