Yesterday I received an e-mail from a retired DC about my Unofficial Gang Show Website, at a recent GS Committee meeting the website was discussed and it was decided that I would be asked if I wouldn’t mind running the official one! I was delighted! I e-mailed back straight away to find out what was required of me, and I came to the conclusion that my site would become the official site, which I have no problem with at all!
Fingers crossed everyone says yes, that way I won’t look like a sad GS enthusiast!

Last night I was watching Ian Hislop’s Scouting for Boys on BBC 4, and earlier I’d watched When We Were Scouts, the one with Neil Morrisey, and what I found funny was how everyone on both shows were ‘former‘ members of TSA or GGUK, there weren’t any currently still involved who can stand up for either organisation! No one they could find could compare their version of Scouting during their childhood to what it’s evolved into, to demonstrate how much it’s advanced!
If only someone would come up with a brilliant idea to make a real-life documentary on a typical Scout Group, follow them for a month, see what they do in meetings, fundraising events, camp etc. This would do so much to boost the image, as well as promoting the fact that their are other alternatives to the traditional Scout Uniform, which I think is one of the main turn-offs!

Why does everyone start off a new blog with the ‘this is a new blog blah blah’ post? It doesn’t really matter if it’s your first blog, all that matters is what’s in it!
So, this is my second blog, welcome, I hope you enjoy it, it will be dedicated to Guiding/Scouting type things, so now you know what you’re getting yourself in for!
